Naija How Far?

Did you know

That I pledged to Nigeria my country
To be faithful, loyal, and honest
To serve Nigeria with all my strength...

But I haven't read in any text what Nigeria has pledged to me, besides the malicious dishing of gbasgbos I have been receiving

Nigeria has neither been faithful, nor loyal to me
Should I talk about the many government offices that have asked for COMPLIANCE FEE to run a legit paper processing that didn't require an extra dime besides the one paid online... Let's not go to Immigration or Road safety, Police or NNPC, POS or Iya Risi...
The honesty in Nigeria can be seen through the super POS agents the CBN sent to our aid (see the discussion here @merci_patrick ).

πŸ˜“
The strength my dear country has used to cripple progress and end the lives of many...

"If only Teachers were paid what politicians were paid and politicians had the pockets of teachers, the world would be a better place."

I watch the news of countries where people die from natural disasters and I weep for Nigeria because we are our own disaster, as natural as our black exist... We are naturally our own disaster.

As e go better don dey betray us
#naija needs an exodus
Make all of us flush commot for like 300years then start come back one by one to rediscover the land.

As eyes don red... We no dey see road again
We no dey see past the day
The only thing in sight is one day at a time
But in two weeks time this election will come
And our franchise will become fat lies
Selling to the highest bidder with the finest naira

Today we ask for the exchange rate of Naira for Naira
As funny as it seems
It is the sales of our human rights
...
E go beta, E go beta

Help Fight Depression Vol2

Hola beautiful minds
2022 and style second volume of our Help Fight Depression campaign is going stronger than ever.

With the world's state of economy, health and perception to life itself, we know so much is at stake if we don't grap onto the line we have right now.

Last year the them for mental health day was; Mental Health in an Unequal World. This year as more attention is shifted to the need to see people better in their respective networks, the theme for 2022 is Make Mental Health For All A Global Priority.

While we all try to contribute to mental health through our own quota, Mind and Space is asking a transformational question;
What are you struggling with right now?

This question hits differently when you hear it, especially when you need it.

With the start of the Help Fight Depression campaign Vol II.
Starting on Sept 10th (World Suicide Prevention Day) to Oct 10th (World Mental Health Day) we encourage you to join the 30 day challenge click here and the accountability group.

Last year we got to express ourselves artistically to push through mental stress, this year we come also with pockets of challenges to push through personal boundaries.

We are still collecting stories to help push this mental health advocacy
Forward pieces to mercirickcrazitivity@gmail.com
Or call 07010432700 for enquiries.

Depression is neither a curse nor a burden to carry alone.
We will help fight Depression, one mind at a time.

Kuje prison attack

The aftermath.
The sounds still raging in our minds, if this was America it would sound like the 4th of July. Only the 4th may scare pets and end up with lost dogs, this is much more.

The first sounds of gunshots at 10:18pm Tuesday night sounded like a movie, only this time we know how real movies can be. Gunshots, grenades, was it bombs?
The Kuje prisons and it's environs on Tuesday night the 5th of July 2022 had the worst heart breaking time in history.

The aftermath, even the leaves hang too mortified to be shaken. They must be dead from fear.
Choppers flying around to assess the damage. And foot soldiers doing a sweep.
Families hurdled together on the ground praying life gives them another chance to change what they can, or just to stay alive for another day. Just to breathe fine without the shakes.

We remain grateful to God and circumstance for one thing, AEDC for the first time in its existence supplied power while this occurrence went down, if not for the electricity who knows how many generators would be kept running and the entry of these unknown gunmen wouldn't have been noticed till the worst had happened.

People with health conditions, especially heart conditions are truly in need of medical attention, panic and PTSD is the mark left on people.

What we know for sure is this;
The Kuje medium correctional facility was attacked, this was a well planned operation on the path of the attackers, some prisoners fled, some prisoners were caught, some prisoners ran to safety and returned willingly at daybreak, security operatives responded, there were casualties on both sides.

Do we say thank goodness they had no intentions of attacking residential buildings? That the target was the prison and the gunshots in the streets were to cause distractions from the main target?

Let's just keep hope alive.
Omo na ground we dey through the night till daybreak, all lights off, and in total silence, hearing the sounds of machine guns, AK-47, grenades and possibly some kinda bombs shook the entire prison and it's environs; Shetuko village (behind the prison), Elrufai estate (adjacent the prison) and parts of Pasali close enough to feel the vibrations. We could hear footsteps out the window and gunshots from different corners. Mehhhhhhnnnnnn... Now we know first hand.

Naija how far?
